Man Utd star Harry Maguire issued an apology to Michy Batshuayi RELATED
Goals from Anthony Martial and captain Harry Maguire meant United would leave Stamford Bridge with an important three points, as they close in on the Champions League qualifying places in the Premier League .

With 12 league games left this season United are now seventh in the table and are only three points off fourth-placed Chelsea.
However, the game was not without controversy, with VAR and a possible sending off creating some talking points.
Chelsea felt aggrieved that Maguire wasn’t sent off in the first half, for an incident that saw the England defender’s leg catch Michy Batshuayi in the groin, as the Chelsea striker fell towards Maguire, who was on the ground.

VAR adjudged that Maguire did nothing wrong and after the game the defender revealed he had apologised to Batshuayi but insisted “it wasn’t a kick out and there was no intent” and the “right decision” was made by the officials.
Chelsea had chances in the game and managed to put the ball into the back of the net on two occasions only for VAR to rule both goals out.
Kurt Zouma thought he had levelled the score just after the break but his header was ruled out when VAR judged that Cesar Azpilicueta had pushed Brandon Williams in the back in the building up.
